Monday Shop Update: vintage class rings

After thinking for a day, I've decided to do a shop update on every Mondays to banish the Monday blues and Fridays so that the shop wouldn't be so quiet during the weekends. (yays!) 

For the shop update today, I've added two class rings in Erin Antiques.

 vintage 1980s/ silver class ring / RUBY

1940s vintage/ yellow and rose gold school ring // JOSTENS

I've always liked class rings because:

1} they are always unique and carry a special meaning/ memory behind them.

2} they come in real solid gold - even for high schools! ( for schools in Singapore, we usually make class tees so those detailed class rings are special to me when I first discovered them in the States )

3} they have the most intricate details on them, enamel work, the year they are made and some even have semi-precious stones on them.

A new shop seal!

Had an antique style seal custom-made for Erin Antiques today! It's a heavy brass seal hand engraved by a metal smith from China- so fun watching him work his way through the thick metal it in front of me :) It cost me a bit more than buying the usual handmade stamp (around $160) but i think it's worth it and it's great to support another handmade artist.

vintage 1920s rope choker necklace

I recently found this old photograph (from the 1930s). And the necklace the pretty lady is wearing matches a necklace that I've acquired from Essex, UK a year ago - How lucky! I named the necklace ESTER after the name found behind the photo :)

There's the black and the cream in marbled leather (sold in set of 4) - I think they make great house warming gifts!

I bought a vintage book today! I'm so happy to find it tucked on the highest shelf among thousands of old tattered books :)
