"There is thunder in our hearts"

Remember this post where I was thinking of getting a new tote bag? I did and ordered a black one from Field Guided last week and... it arrived in my mail box this afternoon! The packaging was pretty and I loved the lovely floral name card and postcards that was tied together with twine.
this made my day :)
 *yup, i'm easily contented.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Dewey, the small town library cat

Have I said before that I like cats? Those big innocent-eyed creatures makes me melt and their warm "i want to cuddle up next to you" attitude makes me love them even more. I know sometimes they can be mischievous or act nonchalant but they sure do make a great friend. So, when I get a house of my own, I'm definitely going to have one :)

I bought this book the day before and now I'm already at chapter 18! I couldn't stop reading yet on another hand, I do not want to read so quickly that I'll reach the last few chapters where Dewey (the orange cat) got sick and died. I do not want this story to end, it's too good. too touching. I laugh when Dewey chewed rubber bands and played with his little ball of red yarn, I worry when he ran out of the library and was missing for a few days. urgh! I don't want to be a spoiler so if you've never read this book before, go get it! seriously, it's good.
I spent the rest of the day reading this book...
.....
and totally forgot I am suppose to clear my desk...
A few things that's lying on my table now among bits and pieces of paper and ribbons..

Monday shop update :)

Three lovely additions to the shop today: one garnet ring and two lockets. Both lockets contained their original photographs- the octagon locket has photographs of a couple while the Edwardian one,(my favorite) has a photograph of an adorable Jack Russel terrier!

lovely tote bags

I've been recently looking for a nice tote bag to carry my essentials (wallet and phone) and it must be roomy/wide enough for my ipad to fit in. These are a few that I've picked :)

Recent purchase: chalk board piggy

I bought a chalk board piggy bank last week. I don't have much love for pigs (more of a cat/dog/squirrels/fox/pony lover), but this is just too adorable :) oh, and I love chalk boards + I get to have a money bank for my spare coins + it's only 4 bucks? = LOVE.
the slot is big enough for all the coins :)
and it has a cute stubby tail too!

Kiddiegem

This lovely blue glass ring is signed "kiddiegem". I did a read up on Kiddiegem and got to know that it it belongs to Uncas Manufacturing Co and they used this mark since December 31, 1934. I was so elated when I found the ad for a similar looking ring below;

It's now in the shop

I'm thankful..

Last year, I opened Erin Antiques in October. I was worried and uncertain about what beholds in the future for the shop. I didn't have much capital to start with and I was working part-time and it was stressful. The first month I only had one sale, though disappointed, I was really thankful to that customer who bought my signet ring. It sparks my motivation to read more and research more about what I was selling. I took initiative to wake up early to take a massive lot of pictures and choosing the best (that I think) for the listing. I've made the decision to quit my job in February this year (due to some health issues). My shop has since been a joy and comfort to me, and I am happy doing the thing I love.
*
I'll like to thank everyone who had purchased a piece of vintage jewelry from my shop and since I'm reaching my first 100th sale, I will send a little something along with the purchase for my 100th customer :)

I'm really thankful.
Oh! And happy Easter day!

(&p.s: do pardon me if I make any grammar/vocab mistakes in my post)

Love,
Erin

lovely floral china brooch

I've stocked this brooch in the shop :) It was made in England around 1970s and fully marked at the back for that ~it's quite a sweet, pretty delicate thing.
